The National Reptile & Amphibian Advisory Council (NRAAC) is a not-for-profit educational organization, staffed and run by volunteers, dedicated to producing an annual symposium on laws, rules, and regulations regarding reptiles and amphibians at the local, state, national, and international levels.

Our goal is bringing together people interested in reptiles, amphibians, and the law, whether they are pet owners, breeders, stores, businesses, rescues, rehabiltators, educators, researchers, zoological institutions, herpetolgical organizations, or government agencies,to discuss the impact of law and regulation on the keeping, breeding, care, and conservation of reptiles and amphibians. To get involved, please join our working group on Facebook.

Committees
Finance Committee

NRAAC committees are comprised of volunteers who determine the direction of the organization and its events, as well as managing day-to-day operations.

The finance committee is responsible for the administrative and operating tasks of the business side of our organization and event. It will be their responsibility to legally register our organization as a business entity, likely an LLC, and then to apply for, achieve, and maintain a Section 501(c)(3) exemption for our organization, if applicable. Additionally they will be responsible for management and disbursement of any funds received via donations and grants, for the operation of our organization and event.

We need volunteers with business adminstration, legal, and financial backgrounds in these roles. Committee members may be professionals or hobbyists, and represent a variety of facets and skill sets within the community.

Anyone with an interest in reptiles, amphibians and the law is welcome to volunteer for a committee. The majority of committee work is email-based and can be done during off-hours. Committee members do not have to participate in the actual Reptile and Amphibian Law Symposium to assist us in its successful production. To volunteer your services for a committee, please contact us.
