The National Reptile & Amphibian Advisory Council (NRAAC) is a not-for-profit educational organization, staffed and run by volunteers, dedicated to producing an annual symposium on laws, rules, and regulations regarding reptiles and amphibians at the local, state, national, and international levels.

Our goal is bringing together people interested in reptiles, amphibians, and the law, whether they are pet owners, breeders, stores, businesses, rescues, rehabiltators, educators, researchers, zoological institutions, herpetolgical organizations, or government agencies,to discuss the impact of law and regulation on the keeping, breeding, care, and conservation of reptiles and amphibians. To get involved, please join our working group on Facebook.

Legal Committee

NRAAC committees are comprised of volunteers who determine the direction of the organization and its events, as well as managing day-to-day operations.

The legal committee is responsible for maintaining the legal aspects of the business side of our organization and event. It is their responsibility to assist our finance committee in legally registering our organization as a business entity, likely an LLC, and then to assist in the appllication for, achievement and maintenance of a Section 501(c)(3) exemption for our organization, if applicable. Additionally they will provide a secondary overview of disbursement of any funds received via donations and grants for the operation of our organization and event, as required. If you would like to be a part of this committee, please contact us.
